Rolex raises gold watch prices as demand remains strong among wealthy buyers
Swiss luxury watchmaker Rolex has increased the global prices of its gold watches by an average of 5%, marking another adjustment in a year characterized by rising production costs and sustained demand for high-end timepieces.
The latest increase reflects the continued rise in gold prices, which have reached historically high levels in international markets. Despite a generally slower luxury goods sector, affluent consumers continue to show strong interest in premium watches, allowing major brands to maintain pricing power.
Rolex had already introduced price adjustments earlier in the year in selected markets. However, the latest increase applies more broadly and focuses specifically on gold models, which are among the brand’s most prestigious offerings.
The trend is not limited to Rolex. Several leading luxury brands have recently revised their prices upward. Jewellery and watch manufacturers are facing higher raw material costs, currency fluctuations, and additional trade-related expenses, prompting companies to adapt their pricing strategies.
Industry analysts note that luxury watches remain attractive to wealthy buyers who often view them not only as status symbols but also as long-term assets. This resilience has helped the sector weather periods of economic uncertainty better than many other consumer industries.
The Swiss watchmaking industry, considered the global benchmark for luxury timepieces, continues to benefit from strong international demand, particularly in North America, Asia, and the Middle East. Premium brands are therefore balancing rising costs with a customer base that remains willing to pay for exclusivity, craftsmanship, and heritage.
As precious metal prices remain elevated and global economic conditions evolve, experts expect luxury watchmakers to continue monitoring their pricing policies while preserving the appeal of their most exclusive collections.
