Rightmove reaffirms 2026 outlook as AI tools drive membership growth
Britain’s largest online property portal, Rightmove, has maintained its financial outlook for 2026 as the company continues to expand its artificial intelligence-powered services and strengthen its core membership base.
The group said its membership growth remains aligned with expectations for around a 1% increase across estate agency and new homes services during the year. Growth in the estate agency division has helped balance weaker conditions in the new homes segment, where developers continue to face slower construction activity linked to softer housing market conditions in the United Kingdom.
Rightmove has been increasing investments in digital innovation to improve user engagement and support long-term business growth. Among the company’s main initiatives is the expansion of AI-driven tools, including its Online Agent Valuation service, designed to provide more accurate and efficient property estimates for users and professionals.
The company acknowledged that higher spending on technology and product development may place pressure on profit margins in the short term. However, management believes these investments will strengthen its competitive position and generate stronger returns over time.
The British housing sector has experienced a period of moderation due to economic uncertainty, elevated borrowing costs, and cautious consumer sentiment. Despite these challenges, digital platforms continue to play a central role in connecting buyers, sellers, landlords, and agents.
Analysts note that artificial intelligence is becoming increasingly important in the real estate industry, helping companies improve customer experience, automate processes, and deliver more personalized services. Rightmove’s continued focus on innovation reflects a broader trend among property technology firms seeking to adapt to changing market expectations.
