Regional Economies: federations strengthened to address territorial challenges

In the framework of the Morocco–Belgium bilateral cooperation program 2024–2029, a new initiative aims to strengthen the capacities of sectoral federations and regional branches of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM) to respond more effectively to economic and territorial challenges.

The project focuses on a structured process combining organizational diagnostics, targeted training, and long-term support. Its goal is to equip federations and regional offices with the tools, methods, and skills necessary to fully assume their role as economic intermediaries, advocates, and facilitators for local businesses.

The first step involves a detailed analysis of the real needs of these structures, identifying gaps in governance, management, member services, and institutional positioning. Based on this assessment, tailored programs will be implemented, including group training, individual coaching, and strategic guidance. Key themes include corporate social responsibility, female entrepreneurship, inclusion of NEET youth, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, time and priority management, project management certification, international cooperation, fundraising, and negotiation strategies.

Another focus is ensuring sustainability of the initiatives. Personalized follow-up and coaching aim to transform theoretical knowledge into operational practices adapted to each sector and territory. Documentation and capitalization of experiences will create transferable knowledge and enhance coherence across the CGEM network.

The program also integrates cross-cutting objectives, including gender equality, integrity, transparency, human rights, and environmental considerations. By promoting these principles, federations and regional offices are positioned as credible, responsible actors capable of engaging with national and international partners.
