Rallye du Maroc 2025 launches from Fez as world’s top drivers chase W2RC glory

Fez is set to roar with the sound of engines as it hosts the start of the 25th Rallye du Maroc, marking the final round of the FIA-FIM World Rally-Raid Championship (W2RC). The service park will open on October 8 at Fez Stadium, with teams preparing for one of the most anticipated events on the international rally-raid calendar.

A key moment in the rally-raid season

Private testing will take place on October 9 and 10, followed by official administrative and technical checks on October 10 and 11. The same evening will see the ceremonial start of the race, officially launching a week of intense desert competition across Morocco.

As the final event of the 2025 W2RC season, the Rallye du Maroc not only crowns champions but also serves as a key testing ground for the upcoming Dakar Rally. Drivers and teams will navigate 2,298 kilometers of challenging terrain, including 1,477 kilometers of timed stages stretching from Fez to Erfoud.

From Fez to the heart of the desert

The prologue on October 12 will set the pace before five grueling stages from October 13 to 17. The first stage runs from Fez to Erfoud, followed by four loops around Erfoud and Merzouga,  regions famed for their towering dunes, rocky pistes, and complex navigation.

Motorcycles, cars, SSVs, and trucks will all compete across Morocco’s unforgiving desert landscape, with the final stage and awards ceremony taking place in Erfoud on October 17.

Star-studded lineup of global champions

The 2025 edition will feature some of the biggest names in rally-raid. Defending world champion Nasser Al-Attiyah will return with Toyota Gazoo Racing, joined by teammates Henk Lategan and Lucas Moraes, all vying for the W2RC title.

Rally legends Carlos Sainz (Ford) and Sébastien Loeb (Dacia) will also be on the starting line, bringing decades of experience and rivalry to the Moroccan dunes. On two wheels, factory riders from KTM, Honda, and Hero promise high-octane competition and spectacular performances.

As the engines ignite in Fez, the Rallye du Maroc once again confirms its reputation as one of the most demanding and prestigious races in the world, setting the stage for an unforgettable season finale.
