Qatar reports attack by ten Iranian drones, no casualties
Qatar reported on Friday that it was targeted by ten Iranian drones, according to the country’s Ministry of Defense. The attacks occurred as tensions rise between Tehran and Gulf monarchies.
“The State of Qatar experienced waves of attacks by the Islamic Republic of Iran involving ten drones, which began at dawn on Friday,” the ministry stated. Qatar’s military successfully intercepted nine of the drones, while one drone struck an uninhabited area, causing no casualties.
The incident reflects growing concerns over drone activity in the Gulf region and the ongoing geopolitical friction between Iran and its neighboring countries. Authorities emphasized that the rapid response of the Qatari forces prevented any loss of life or property damage.
