Police in Pierrefitte-sur-Seine have seized 420 canisters of nitrous oxide from a vehicle and arrested a suspect, as part of ongoing efforts to combat the misuse of the substance.

The operation took place on Saturday evening when officers noticed a group of individuals handling a box filled with gas canisters. One person claimed ownership of the items, prompting a search of his vehicle, where the larger quantity was discovered.

Authorities confirmed that the seizure is part of a broader campaign led by the Paris Police Prefecture aimed at tackling the illegal distribution and recreational use of nitrous oxide, commonly known as “laughing gas.”
