Paris police thwart attempted attack outside bank of america branch
French police foiled an attempted attack overnight in Paris, preventing a potentially dangerous incident outside a branch of Bank of America.
According to initial reports, the incident occurred shortly after 3 a.m. on a central Paris street. Officers intervened as an individual allegedly attempted to ignite a homemade explosive device placed near the building. The suspect was arrested on the spot and taken into custody.
Authorities said the device consisted of a container filled with an unidentified liquid—likely flammable—combined with an explosive charge. Specialized units secured the area and took charge of the device for further analysis.
Investigators believe the suspect was not acting alone. A second individual reportedly fled the scene, while another person may have transported the suspect to the location by car. During questioning, the detained individual claimed he had been recruited عبر social media, specifically through the app Snapchat, and was promised payment in exchange for carrying out the act.
The motives behind the attempted attack remain unclear, and an investigation is ongoing to identify possible accomplices and determine the broader context of the incident. Authorities continue to stress the importance of vigilance in preventing threats and ensuring public safety.
