Pakistani Foreign Minister meets EU council President in Brussels to deepen partnership

Pakistani Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a meeting on Wednesday with European Council President Antonio Costa in Brussels, where the two officials reviewed the progress of bilateral ties and discussed opportunities to expand cooperation, according to a statement from Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry.

Both sides welcomed the positive momentum in Pakistan-EU relations and agreed to further strengthen what they described as a mutually beneficial partnership across multiple sectors.

Dar expressed appreciation for the EU’s continued support for Pakistan at both bilateral and multilateral levels.

The talks also covered key areas of shared interest, including the GSP+ trade regime, economic cooperation, and regional and global security developments.
According to the statement, the delegations reaffirmed their strong commitment to multilateralism and emphasized the importance of working together on common priorities.

Both parties also expressed readiness to enhance collaboration in critical sectors, underscoring the long-term importance of Pakistan-EU engagement.
