Pakistani army eliminates 14 militants in counter-terror operation in Balochistan

Islamabad, August 10, 2025 — The Pakistani military has announced the killing of 14 suspected militants during a security operation in the southwestern province of Balochistan, near the Afghan border.

The operation was conducted in the Sambaza area, according to a statement released by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the military’s media wing. Troops reportedly recovered weapons, ammunition, and explosives from the site.

This mission follows an earlier operation on Thursday night in the same region, where 33 militants were reportedly neutralized. "With the latest action, the total number of terrorists killed over two days now stands at 47," the military confirmed.

The Pakistani army has intensified counterterrorism efforts in recent months in response to a surge in militant attacks, particularly in the northwest and southwest of the country. Balochistan, rich in natural resources, has long been the scene of insurgent activity and separatist movements.

Authorities emphasized that these operations are part of broader efforts to secure the country's borders and eliminate threats posed by armed groups operating near Afghanistan.
