Norway: Former US embassy guard sentenced for espionage
A 28-year-old Norwegian who worked as a security officer at the U.S. Embassy in Oslo has been sentenced to three years and seven months in prison for espionage in favor of Russia and Iran.
He was accused of providing blueprints and information about embassy activities between March and November 2024. Reports indicate he received €10,000 from Russian contacts and 0.17 bitcoin (approximately €8,500) from Iranian contacts in exchange for the classified information.
