New Renault Clio arrives in Morocco with hybrid technology
Renault Morocco is preparing to launch the sixth generation of the Renault Clio, one of the country’s most successful compact cars. The new model will go on sale across Morocco on June 22, 2026, bringing a redesigned exterior, upgraded digital features and new powertrain options aimed at strengthening the brand’s position in the competitive B segment.
The Clio has maintained a strong presence in the Moroccan automotive market for more than three decades. Across all generations, nearly 145,000 units have been sold in the country. Renault is now introducing a fully redesigned version that combines the model’s established strengths with the latest developments in connectivity, efficiency and driving assistance technologies.
The new Clio adopts Renault’s latest design language. The vehicle is longer and wider than its predecessor, giving it a stronger road presence. Its front end features a large grille inspired by the Renault diamond emblem and a new lighting signature. Sculpted body lines, wider tracks and wheel options reaching 18 inches contribute to a sportier appearance. Renault has also added two new exterior colors, Absolute Red and Absolute Green, alongside existing shades already popular with Moroccan customers.
Inside the cabin, the manufacturer has focused on comfort and perceived quality. Improved materials and customizable ambient lighting enhance the interior environment. Rear passengers benefit from generous space, while the luggage compartment offers up to 328 liters of capacity depending on the version. These changes are designed to maintain the Clio’s reputation as a practical urban vehicle while improving everyday usability.
A major innovation is the introduction of the OpenR Link multimedia system with integrated Google services, a first for Renault’s Moroccan lineup. Drivers can access Google Maps, Google Assistant and Google Play directly from the central display. The system aims to deliver a connected experience similar to that of a modern smartphone while reducing reliance on external devices.
The vehicle is built on an optimized platform designed to improve both ride comfort and handling. Renault has also refined suspension settings and sound insulation to enhance daily driving conditions. The new Clio includes advanced driver assistance systems such as intelligent adaptive cruise control, Active Driver Assist, a 360-degree camera and the My Safety Switch feature, which allows drivers to personalize safety system settings.
Renault is offering two engine choices. The headline addition is the 160-horsepower Full Hybrid E-Tech powertrain, which combines a 1.8-liter gasoline engine with two electric motors. The company says the vehicle can operate in electric mode for up to 80% of urban and suburban driving. Fuel consumption starts at 3.9 liters per 100 kilometers, while driving range can reach 1,000 kilometers under mixed-use conditions.
A second option is a 115-horsepower TCe gasoline engine paired with an EDC automatic transmission. This version targets drivers seeking a balance between efficiency, performance and driving comfort. Pricing starts at 220,000 dirhams for the Evolution trim, rises to 245,000 dirhams for the Techno version and reaches 270,000 dirhams for the range-topping Esprit Alpine model. Renault expects the new Clio to reinforce its status as one of Morocco’s best-known and most popular passenger vehicles.
