Mustapha Lahboubi appointed head of CDG savings and providence division

Morocco’s Deposit and Management Fund has appointed Mustapha Lahboubi as head of its Savings and Providence division, a central unit responsible for managing key national retirement and regulated savings schemes. The appointment took effect on June 1 and marks a leadership change within one of the country’s most strategic public financial institutions.

The division oversees major pension systems and savings structures that form part of Morocco’s long-term social protection framework. Its responsibilities include the National Pension and Insurance Fund and the Collective Retirement Allocation Scheme, alongside regulated savings mechanisms managed on behalf of public institutions and professional bodies. It also contributes to financing programs linked to national public-interest priorities.

The appointment comes within a broader governance adjustment aimed at reinforcing oversight of retirement funds and regulated savings. Authorities are seeking to strengthen internal management structures at a time when pension systems face long-term demographic and economic pressures. The restructuring focuses on clearer decision-making lines and improved institutional control over sensitive financial portfolios.

Lahboubi has built his career within the same institution, holding senior roles in finance, risk management, and strategic planning.
