Morocco–France: Cultural Cooperation Strengthens Around New Joint Projects
During the high-level Morocco-France meeting held in Rabat, Moroccan Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication, Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, met with his French counterpart, Catherine Pigasse, to strengthen cultural ties between the Kingdom of Morocco and the French Republic.
This meeting, held on the sidelines of the official visit to Morocco by French Prime Minister, Sébastien Lecornu, allowed the two officials to highlight the quality of cultural relations between the two countries. They reaffirmed their commitment to deepen this cooperation within the framework of the exceptional partnership that unites Rabat and Paris, in accordance with the vision put forth by King Mohammed VI and President Emmanuel Macron.
The discussions focused on several projects aimed at intensifying exchanges between Moroccan and French cultural actors. Among the topics examined was the enhancement of Morocco's presence at the Cité internationale des arts in Paris, considered a reference point for artistic creation and artist residencies.
The two ministers also discussed Morocco's participation in the support fund for African authors and producers, an initiative aimed at encouraging audiovisual creation on the continent. The exchanges also covered the development of cooperation with the Arab World Institute in Paris, as well as the launch of new joint projects in the field of archaeological research.
Cooperation between the two countries is also expected to extend to rapidly growing cultural sectors, including the video game and film industries. These fields represent new opportunities for collaboration, both in terms of creation and training, production, and skill exchanges.
The various initiatives discussed during this meeting form the basis of the cultural agreements concluded during the high-level Morocco-France meeting. They reflect the willingness of both governments to consolidate a sustainable cultural partnership capable of promoting artistic exchanges, enhancing heritage, and supporting the creative industries on both sides of the Mediterranean.
