Morocco Stumbles in Spirited Futsal Face-off Against Spain

In a thrilling prelude to the Futsal World Cup in Uzbekistan, Spain emerged victorious over Morocco with a decisive 4-2 win in their friendly match at the Mohammed VI Complex in Rabat. This encounter was part of Spain’s preparation, featuring another upcoming friendly.

Spain's starting lineup Jesus Herrero, Tomaz, Miguel Mellado, Adolfito, and Raul Campos set the tone early, securing a lead within two minutes. Despite Morocco's strategic play and precise passing, they struggled to convert opportunities, with Herrero saving a critical shot from Anas El-Ayyane and Anas Dahani hitting the post.

Just before halftime, Mellado capitalized on a counter-attack, pushing Spain ahead 2-0. Morocco responded in the second half with Soufiane El Mesrar narrowing the gap. Nevertheless, Adolfito extended Spain's lead to 3-1 after Mellado's attempt rebounded to him, followed by a setup from Campos that allowed Adolfito to score again, making it 4-1. Otmane Boumezou managed a final goal for Morocco.

Spain's fluid ball movement and accurate passing, orchestrated under coach Fede Vidal, showcased their superior technical prowess. Vidal praised Morocco's progress, noting their impressive results against formidable teams in recent years.

As Morocco gears up for the Futsal World Cup, placed in Group E alongside Portugal, Panama, and Tajikistan, they reflect on their recent triumph in the Africa Cup of Nations. The tournament in Uzbekistan, running from September 14 to October 6, will also feature Angola and Libya representing Africa.

The teams will clash again in Rabat on Wednesday, promising another captivating display for futsal enthusiasts.
