Morocco stands alone in delivering direct humanitarian aid to Gaza
Morocco has emerged as the only country to deliver humanitarian aid directly to Gaza, providing critical relief to Palestinians amidst a worsening humanitarian crisis.
On July 30, His Majsty King Mohammed VI ordered the dispatch of nearly 180 tons of emergency supplies, including food, medical aid, and shelter materials. This unprecedented initiative ensures the aid reaches beneficiaries directly, bypassing intermediaries, and reflects Morocco’s steadfast commitment to preserving the dignity of Palestinians.
The aid comes at a time when Gaza faces severe starvation tactics imposed by the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF). These measures have led to the death of over 197 people, including many children and newborns. Senior Palestinian officials have praised Morocco for its swift and impactful intervention.
Morocco’s direct delivery of aid reinforces its influential role in regional geopolitics and highlights its unwavering support for the Palestinian cause. The North African nation has long advocated for a two-state solution and repeatedly called for an end to the IOF’s genocidal campaign, urging an immediate ceasefire.
Over the past year, Morocco has intensified its humanitarian efforts for Gaza. In June, HM King Mohammed VI launched a medical aid operation delivering 40 tons of supplies, followed by an additional 4 tons of aid. These initiatives have consistently been executed with dignity and respect, further demonstrating Morocco’s dedication to supporting the Palestinian people.
The crisis in Gaza continues to deepen. According to Palestinian sources, the IOF blockade has triggered widespread famine and a dire shortage of medical supplies. Since March 2, border crossings into Gaza have remained closed, exacerbating starvation and malnutrition. The ongoing conflict has claimed over 209,000 lives, with more than 11,000 individuals still missing.
Morocco’s bold humanitarian act underscores its solidarity with Palestinians and its commitment to alleviating their suffering. Despite international appeals, the situation remains critical as the IOF persists with its blockade and military campaign.
