In a momentous decision, FIFA's extraordinary Congress, conducted via videoconference on Wednesday, officially announced that Morocco, Spain, and Portugal will jointly host the 2030 FIFA World Cup. This announcement was confirmed by Morocco's Press Agency (MAP).

Patrice Motsepe, President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), expressed his enthusiasm over the historic event. In a statement, he congratulated Morocco and its partners, Portugal and Spain, for securing the prestigious hosting rights. Motsepe emphasized that Morocco would be only the second African nation to host the World Cup, following South Africa’s groundbreaking role in 2010.

Motsepe also praised the leadership of Fouzi Lekjaa, the President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, for his pivotal role in ensuring Morocco’s successful bid. Recognizing the immense significance of the World Cup, Motsepe underscored that the event was more than just a football tournament—it presented an opportunity for international dialogue, promoting peace and unity.

He further remarked that the collaboration between Morocco, Portugal, and Spain symbolized a bridge connecting Africa and Europe through football, inspiring the global football community to work together toward making the world a better place.
