Morocco showcases Arabian horse breeding excellence at EAHGC 2026
The international equestrian community gathered in Rabat for the 2026 edition of the Emirates Arabian Horse Global Cup Morocco 2026, an event dedicated to promoting the excellence of Arabian horse breeding in the Kingdom.
Hosted at the National Horse Institute Prince Héritier Moulay El Hassan in Dar Essalam, the competition brought together breeders, experts, and horse enthusiasts from different countries to celebrate the heritage and prestige of Arabian horses.
The event was organized by SOREC in partnership with the Emirates Arabian Horse Society and the Royal Moroccan Association of Arabian Thoroughbred Breeders. The Moroccan stage represents one of the major stops in an international circuit designed to support and promote Arabian horse breeding worldwide.
Nearly 200 horses and dozens of breeders participated in the 2026 edition. International judges from Europe and the Middle East evaluated the competing horses across several championship categories highlighting beauty, pedigree, and breeding quality.
Organizers emphasized that the competition provides Moroccan breeders with an important platform to showcase their expertise and strengthen the international visibility of locally bred Arabian horses. The event also reflects Morocco’s broader strategy to support small and medium-sized breeders and preserve equestrian traditions deeply rooted in the country’s cultural identity.
Arabian horses hold a special place in Moroccan heritage, where equestrian culture has historically been associated with prestige, tradition, and rural development. Over the years, Morocco has invested in modern breeding programs, veterinary services, and equestrian infrastructure to reinforce the sector’s competitiveness on the international stage.
The global cup additionally promotes cultural exchange and cooperation among breeders from different regions while encouraging the preservation of bloodlines and breeding standards.
Observers consider the event an important showcase for Morocco’s growing role in the international equestrian world and a symbol of the Kingdom’s commitment to preserving and promoting Arabian horse culture.
