Morocco shines in London during Africa Day celebration

Morocco stood out during the Africa Day celebrations held on Saturday evening in London, where it showcased its rich cultural heritage and traditional elegance, according to general reports on the event.

The Moroccan Embassy in the United Kingdom took part in the African fashion parade, highlighting the Moroccan caftan, widely regarded as an emblem of cultural heritage, refinement, and identity. The garment, known for its intricate embroidery and vibrant colours, attracted strong attention from participants representing several African countries.

A Moroccan pavilion, organised by the embassy, also drew significant interest from visitors. It offered an overview of Morocco’s historical depth, artisanal craftsmanship, and cultural diversity, while emphasizing values such as hospitality, community, and openness.

The celebration brought together representatives from across the African continent to reflect on the progress achieved since the founding of African unity institutions. Participants stressed the importance of solidarity and cooperation in building a more integrated and prosperous Africa.

This year’s edition focused on the African Union’s Agenda 2063, with particular attention to sustainability, access to water, sanitation, and long-term development challenges facing the continent.

Speakers highlighted education and human capital development as key pillars for Africa’s future, underlining the need for investment in youth, innovation, and inclusive growth.
