Morocco's Participation in Arab Cup and CHAN 2025
Morocco's Royal Football Federation (FRMF) has confirmed that the national football team will participate in two major tournaments: the Africa Nations Championship (CHAN), which will take place next month in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda, and the Arab Cup, scheduled to be held in Qatar from December 1 to 18, 2025.
According to informed sources, the overlap in dates between the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) in Morocco and the Arab Cup will not prevent Morocco from competing in both events. The FRMF plans to field a B-team for both tournaments, with the national under-23 coach, Tarik Sektioui, leading the squad. This team will primarily consist of players from the national B-team, local league players, and a select few from Moroccan players active in Arab and Gulf leagues, as chosen by the coach.
It is important to note that the Arab Cup's dates, from December 1 to 18, 2025, will coincide with the final days of preparation for African teams participating in the Africa Cup of Nations, which will be hosted in Morocco from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026.
Additionally, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced that the draw for the CHAN will take place on January 15, 2025, in Nairobi, Kenya.
