Morocco's Humanitarian Aid Reignites Hope for Palestinians

Morocco's recent humanitarian aid efforts in Gaza and East Jerusalem have sparked renewed hope among the embattled Palestinian population, as highlighted by a senior Palestinian official. Ahmed Siam, Director General of the Media and Public Relations Department at the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), lauded the aid deployment by His Majesty King Mohammed VI as a gesture that "rekindles the hope of the Palestinian people."

Siam's comments come amidst the enduring challenges faced by the Gaza Strip, which has been subjected to a crippling air, land, and sea blockade for nearly 17 years. He emphasized that "Moroccan generosity has remained steadfast throughout this period, providing crucial support to Palestinians' resilience."

Expressing profound gratitude, the Palestinian official stated, "The Palestinian people deeply appreciate this initiative by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, which aligns with the Kingdom of Morocco's longstanding positions in support of the Palestinian people and their quest for independence."

Siam underscored Morocco's unwavering commitment to the Palestinian cause, emphasizing that the Kingdom's stance is "consistent and resolute, with His Majesty the King consistently reaffirming it at every opportunity." He also highlighted Morocco's rejection of "any attempts to distort the history and identity of the Holy City" of Jerusalem.

The PLO official praised Morocco's dedication, particularly under His Majesty King Mohammed VI's leadership, to prioritizing the Palestinian issue in its international policy. The recent humanitarian aid operation, initiated by the King in his role as Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, aims to provide essential food assistance to Palestinians in Gaza and East Jerusalem.
