Morocco’s fishing sales slightly own by end of September
Sales from coastal and artisanal fishing in Morocco reached 8.2 billion dirhams by the end of September 2025, marking a 3% decrease compared to the same period last year, according to the National Fisheries Office (ONP).
In volume, landings amounted to 814,742 tonnes, a 13% drop year-on-year. By category, shellfish value surged by 1,166%, while algae and white fish grew by 30% and 8%, respectively. However, pelagic fish fell by 7%, cephalopods by 5%, and crustaceans by 3%.
The Mediterranean ports posted a 5% increase in volume and a 3% rise in value, reaching 577.17 million dirhams, while Atlantic ports saw a 13% decline in volume and a 3% drop in value, totaling 7.62 billion dirhams, the ONP reported.
