Morocco's Atlas Mountains to Host Groundbreaking Dinosaur Theme Park
Morocco's tourism landscape is set to expand with an innovative dinosaur-themed leisure park in the heart of the Atlas Mountains. The "Dino Parc" project, announced by the Moroccan Agency for Tourism Engineering (SMIT) and the Béni Mellal-Khénifra regional authorities, will be established in the scenic city of Azilal.
This ambitious venture, requiring an investment of MAD 100 million (Moroccan Dirhams), will sprawl across 5 hectares of land. The project emerges from a collaborative effort between Morocco's Ministry of Tourism, the Wilaya, and the Béni Mellal-Khénifra Regional Council, aligning with the country's 2023-2026 tourism development strategy.
The park's strategic location will complement the UNESCO-recognized Geopark of Mgoun, known for its exceptional geological and natural heritage. Visitors can expect an engaging blend of entertainment and education, with immersive experiences designed to bring the prehistoric world to life.
Beyond its dinosaur-themed attractions, the park aims to establish itself as a premier ecotourism destination. The facility will cater to both domestic and international tourists, offering a unique combination of natural exploration, educational activities, and hiking adventures in the stunning Atlas Mountains setting.
This development represents a significant step in diversifying Morocco's tourism offerings, combining natural heritage with educational entertainment to create a distinctive attraction in North Africa's tourism sector.
