Morocco’s ambassador begins diplomatic mission in Indonesia ceremony

Morocco’s newly appointed ambassador to Indonesia, Redouane Houssaini, has officially started his diplomatic mission after presenting his Letters of Credence to President Prabowo Subianto at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta. The ceremony marked the formal entry of the ambassador into his post and the launch of his responsibilities in the Southeast Asian country.

During the meeting, the ambassador conveyed greetings from King Mohammed VI to the Indonesian president and the Indonesian people. He emphasized the long-standing friendship between Rabat and Jakarta and stressed the importance of deepening cooperation at a time of rapid global political and economic change. Both sides underlined their commitment to strengthening bilateral ties.

Houssaini described Morocco and Indonesia as natural partners with shared values and aligned visions for international engagement. He highlighted the strategic partnership established in 2023 as a framework designed to expand cooperation across multiple sectors and elevate the relationship to a higher level of coordination.

The ambassador outlined priority areas for collaboration, including trade, investment, renewable energy, food security, climate action, and cultural exchange. He also pointed to the complementary geopolitical roles of both countries, with Indonesia serving as a gateway to Southeast Asia and Morocco positioned as a bridge to Africa, Europe, the Arab world, and the Americas.

President Prabowo Subianto welcomed the ambassador and asked him to transmit his greetings to King Mohammed VI. He expressed support for continued development of bilateral relations and reaffirmed Indonesia’s commitment to South-South cooperation and sustainable development goals.
