Morocco Reinforces Its Commitment to Key Arab Causes

In line with the high directives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the Kingdom of Morocco remains strongly dedicated to supporting the priorities of Arab nations. During the 115th session of the Economic and Social Council of the Arab League, held in Cairo, Morocco’s Ambassador to Egypt and Permanent Representative to the Arab League, Mohamed Ait Ouali, reaffirmed the Kingdom's commitment to the goals of joint Arab action.

Sustained Commitment to Development

Ambassador Ait Ouali emphasized Morocco's desire to promote sustainable economic and social development within the region. This commitment aims to improve the prosperity of Arab populations and meet their aspirations through structural projects and initiatives for economic cooperation.

Unwavering Support for the Palestinian Cause

True to its historical stance, Morocco reiterated its unwavering support for the Palestinian cause. As President of the Al-Quds Committee, His Majesty King Mohammed VI continues to work toward the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital. The Ambassador also stressed the importance of respecting the ceasefire and the ongoing reconstruction efforts in Gaza, calling for mobilization to preserve the holy sites.

In this regard, he highlighted Morocco’s support for small and medium-sized enterprises in Palestine, an essential lever to revive the economy and improve the living conditions of Palestinian families.

Moroccan Mediation Welcomed

Ambassador Ait Ouali highlighted Morocco's crucial role in resolving the issue of frozen Palestinian funds by Israel, an initiative successfully mediated by His Majesty King Mohammed VI. This intervention has been widely praised by Palestinian leaders and the Arab community.

Support for Reconstruction Projects in Yemen

In addition to its commitment to Palestine, Morocco actively supports reconstruction efforts in Yemen. The Ambassador emphasized the importance of rebuilding the country's infrastructure to promote economic recovery and stability after years of conflict.

Initiatives for Arab Economic Cooperation

During the ministerial session, several key issues were discussed, including the development of the Greater Arab Free Trade Area and the implementation of the Arab Strategy for Water Security. These initiatives aim to enhance food security and promote sustainable development in the region.

A Committed Moroccan Delegation

Morocco’s participation in the session included a delegation of representatives from the Ministry of Economy and Finance as well as the Ministry of Industry and Commerce. This involvement demonstrates the Kingdom’s determination to play an active role in strengthening economic and social cooperation within the Arab world.

Through these initiatives, Morocco reaffirms its commitment to stability, development, and solidarity among Arab nations, with a special focus on the Palestinian cause and the region's economic development.
