Morocco opens voter registration period ahead of 2026 parliamentary elections
Moroccan authorities have officially opened the period for new voter registration requests as part of preparations for the parliamentary elections scheduled for September 23, 2026.
According to a statement from the Ministry of the Interior, citizens can submit new registration applications or request transfers between electoral districts from May 15 to June 13, 2026. The measure is part of the annual revision process of the country’s general electoral lists.
The ministry urged eligible citizens who are not yet registered to complete the process within the designated period. Individuals who are at least 18 years old, or who will reach that age by election day, are entitled to register.
Authorities also encouraged voters who have changed their place of residence to update or transfer their electoral information to their new municipality or district. The process can be completed online through the official electoral platform or at designated local administrative offices.
In addition, voters are invited to verify their registration status through the official website or by sending a text message to a dedicated free service number.
The upcoming legislative elections are expected to play an important role in shaping Morocco’s political landscape over the coming years.
