Morocco leads arab countries in gasoline prices amid gulf subsidies
Morocco currently has the highest gasoline prices in the Arab world, with fuel costing around $1.106 per liter. It is followed by Jordan at $0.910 per liter and Tunisia at $0.766 per liter.
In contrast, Gulf countries benefit from lower prices due to local oil availability and government fuel subsidies. The price per liter stands at $0.694 in the United Arab Emirates, $0.671 in Oman, and $0.549 in Qatar. In Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, it is even lower at $0.477, while Kuwait offers fuel at $0.374 per liter.
At the lower end of the spectrum, Algeria reports prices of $0.239 per liter, and Libya has some of the cheapest fuel in the region at just $0.028 per liter, reflecting continued broad government subsidies.
Analysts note that these differences highlight the impact of domestic oil production, subsidy policies, and market regulations on regional fuel prices, affecting both consumers and transportation costs.
