According to the latest labour market report, the rise is mainly driven by 164,000 new positions in urban areas and 3,000 in rural regions.
Paid employment increased by 220,000 jobs, with 168,000 created in cities and 52,000 in the countryside. However, unpaid employment dropped by 54,000 positions, largely in rural areas.
By sector, services led job creation with 94,000 new posts, followed by construction and public works (BTP) with 90,000, and industry with 29,000. The agriculture, forestry, and fishing sector saw a loss of 47,000 jobs, mainly in rural areas.
Despite job growth, the national activity rate fell slightly from 43.6% to 43.3%, with both men and women showing small declines. The employment rate remained stable at 37.6% nationwide, according to the HCP.
