Morocco approves two senior government appointments during cabinet meeting

Morocco's government has approved two senior appointments during a Cabinet meeting, filling key leadership positions in the areas of employment and digital transformation as part of decisions adopted under the country's constitutional appointment process.

The appointments were endorsed on Thursday in accordance with Article 92 of the Moroccan Constitution, which governs nominations to senior public offices.

New employment director appointed

The Cabinet approved the appointment of Yahia Oukach as Director of Employment at the Ministry of Economic Inclusion, Small Enterprise, Employment and Skills.

In his new role, Oukach will oversee employment-related policies and initiatives within a ministry responsible for promoting job creation, workforce development and economic inclusion.

Digital transition leadership strengthened

The government also appointed Mohamed Amine Lahrach as Director General of Digital Transition at the Ministry Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform.

His appointment comes as Morocco continues to advance digital transformation across public institutions, with ongoing efforts aimed at modernizing government services, improving administrative efficiency and expanding digital public infrastructure.

Appointments approved under constitutional framework

The decisions were announced following the weekly Cabinet meeting and form part of the government's regular process for appointing senior officials to strategic public administration positions.

The appointments, approved under the provisions of Article 92 of the Constitution, reinforce leadership in two sectors considered central to Morocco's economic modernization agenda: employment policy and digital governance.
