Morocco-Canada: Montreal Hosts a Day Dedicated to Investment and Economic Partnerships
Entrepreneurs, investors, institutions, and experts from Morocco and Canada gathered in Montreal with a shared goal: to transform economic exchanges between the two countries into concrete projects. Organized by the Morocco-Canada Economic Chamber (CEMC), the meeting on September 19 focused on investment, entrepreneurship, and partnerships.
An Event to Move from Intentions to Projects
The Morocco-Canada Economic Chamber held an economic day titled « From Intention to Investment » on Saturday, September 19, in Montreal. The event took place at the Entrepreneurship Center of ESG UQAM and brought together various stakeholders from the Moroccan and Canadian economic ecosystems.
The stated objective was to foster meetings between entrepreneurs, investors, institutions, and project holders to generate concrete collaborations. The CEMC aims to go beyond mere information exchange to facilitate the identification of opportunities, networking, and structuring investment projects.
This approach aligns with the Chamber's mission, established in 2026 to strengthen trade and industrial exchanges between Morocco and Canada and encourage cross-investments. Identified sectors include innovation, renewable energies, agri-food, infrastructure, and information technologies.
Morocco Presented as an Investment Platform
During this meeting, Morocco's ambassador to Canada, Souriya Otmani, highlighted the advantages of the Kingdom to the present economic stakeholders.
Morocco is notably presented as a platform allowing investors to develop their activities toward the African continent. The country's stability, geographic location, economic diversification, and infrastructure development are among the arguments put forward to attract new projects.
The focus was also placed on industrial ecosystems, trade agreements, and the availability of a qualified human capital, all elements likely to promote the establishment or expansion of Canadian companies in Morocco.
Strengthening Bridges Between Entrepreneurs
The Montreal day also aimed to bring closer the skills and professional networks of both business communities.
The CEMC particularly seeks to create a framework that allows entrepreneurs to better understand the Moroccan market, identify promising sectors, and meet the contacts who can support them in their projects. A session dedicated to the business climate in Morocco and the fundamentals of « Doing Business » was notably included in the program.
The financial sector was also associated with this dynamic. Saham Bank was among the event's partners, aiming to contribute to connecting investors, entrepreneurs, and institutions and facilitating project structuring.
A Cooperation That is Taking Shape
The event is part of a broader dynamic to develop economic relations between Morocco and Canada. The CEMC plans a meeting in Toronto in November 2026 and an economic mission to Morocco in March 2027, aimed at exploring sectoral opportunities and organizing B2B meetings. An economic forum Canada-Morocco is also announced for May 2027.
In Montreal, the CEMC and the Entrepreneurship Center of ESG UQAM have further strengthened their cooperation around entrepreneurship, innovation, skills development, and creating bridges between the two ecosystems.
The meeting on September 19 thus appears as a step toward transforming Moroccan-Canadian economic relations into more structured collaborations, with a particular focus on investments and entrepreneurial projects.
