Moroccan Security Chief Attends Bicentennial Celebration of Spanish National Police

Abdellatif Hammouchi, Director General of Morocco's National Security and Territorial Surveillance (DGSN-DGST), recently participated in the official bicentennial celebration of the Spanish National Police Force. His presence at this significant event highlights the strong relationship between Morocco and Spain and underscores the Moroccan security system's international reputation for expertise and trustworthiness.

During the celebrations, Hammouchi held bilateral discussions with his Spanish counterparts to explore opportunities for enhancing security cooperation, operational coordination, and technical assistance. These talks focused on joint efforts to combat transnational threats such as terrorism, organized crime, illegal migration networks, human trafficking, and drug smuggling. The discussions emphasized the shared commitment of both nations to addressing regional security challenges together.

The event, attended by Spanish King Felipe VI, commemorated the founding of the National Police Force in Spain, which dates back to a royal decree issued by Ferdinand VII on January 13, 1824. The occasion recognized the enduring legacy and historical significance of the Spanish National Police.

Hammouchi's involvement in this prestigious event is a testament to Morocco's leadership in security matters. As a prominent figure in the fight against terrorism, Hammouchi has played a key role in dismantling numerous terrorist cells both within Morocco and internationally. His effective leadership in combating violence and organized crime has helped protect many countries from significant threats, earning him widespread respect among security and intelligence services worldwide.

The participation of the Moroccan security delegation in the bicentennial celebration not only represents Moroccan excellence in security but also reinforces the cooperation between Morocco and Spain in addressing global security challenges. This collaboration reflects the shared commitment of both nations to promoting a safer and more secure world.
