Moroccan doctors in Germany launch a new professional association
Moroccan doctors practicing in Germany have officially established a new professional association named the Marokkanischer Ärzteverein Deutschland (MÄD), marking a significant step in organizing the Moroccan medical diaspora.
The announcement was made during the first Moroccan Doctors’ Day in Germany, held in Langenselbold near Frankfurt. The event gathered around 200 participants, including representatives from Moroccan governmental institutions, medical organizations, and academic bodies, as well as diplomatic officials.
The newly created association aims to build a strong professional network based on cooperation, mutual support, and knowledge sharing among Moroccan doctors working in Germany. It also seeks to facilitate continuous medical training and professional development opportunities.
Beyond networking, the association plans to strengthen collaboration between the Moroccan healthcare system and Moroccan medical professionals abroad. This includes academic exchanges, skills transfer, and cooperation in various medical specialties to support healthcare development in Morocco.
According to its organizers, the association already counts dozens of members and regularly hosts training sessions and scientific meetings. These activities are designed to enhance expertise and encourage exchange of experience between doctors in both countries.
The initiative also aims to support Moroccan medical students and young doctors in their training pathways, while reinforcing ties between institutions in Morocco and the diaspora community in Germany.
