Moroccan Cinema Takes Center Stage at France's Angoulême Film Festival
The picturesque French city of Angoulême is set to transform into a vibrant celebration of Moroccan cinema as it hosts the Festival du Film Francophone (FFA) with a distinctly North African flair. From August 27 to September 1, 2024, this annual event will shine a spotlight on the rich tapestry of Moroccan filmmaking, bridging cultures through the universal language of cinema.
As the festival kicked off on Tuesday, Angoulême embraced its role as a temporary cinematic embassy for Morocco. The city hall proudly flew the Moroccan flag, symbolizing a warm welcome to "the land of cinema and filmmaking." This year's edition promises to be a kaleidoscope of Moroccan film, offering attendees a diverse array of works that span generations and genres.
