Moroccan athletes dominate road race at Nad Al Sheba Sports Tournament
Moroccan athletes showcased their dominance in the road races held on Saturday as part of the 12th Nad Al Sheba Sports Tournament at the Meydan Racecourse in Dubai. The event saw the participation of 4,300 runners from various nationalities.
In the men's 10-kilometer race, Yasser El Chachaoui of Morocco secured first place with a time of 27 minutes and 21 seconds, ahead of his compatriots Mohamed Aït Mamas and Ismail El Kharchi. Meanwhile, Abdulkarim Tiki Abdulrahman won the category reserved for Emirati athletes, clocking 28 minutes and 15 seconds.
Among the women, Moroccan runner Rokaya Moukaim claimed victory with a time of 34 minutes and 37 seconds. In the Emirati women's category, Ruqayya Al Mazrouei took first place, finishing in 38 minutes and 36 seconds.
In the 5-kilometer men's race, Morocco's Amine Souida emerged as the winner, completing the distance in 14 minutes and 45 seconds. Hamid Al Moualla triumphed in the Emirati category with a time of 15 minutes and 41 seconds. On the women’s side, Polish athlete Emilia Mangilinane secured first place with a time of 22 minutes and 11 seconds, while Hessa Al Jassmi won the Emirati women's race in 23 minutes and 48 seconds.
In the seniors and residents' 5-kilometer category, French runner Jean-Claude Haramburi claimed the men's title with a time of 16 minutes and 58 seconds, while his compatriot Latifa Saroukh won the women's race in 25 minutes and 33 seconds.
