Mecapole Industries Targets Morocco With Up to €14 Million Aerospace Investment
French precision engineering group Mecapole Industries is preparing to establish a manufacturing facility in Morocco, with plans to invest between €10 million and €14 million in an industrial project expected to create 80 to 85 direct jobs and begin production in early 2028.
The planned facility will be located in the Midparc industrial zone in Nouaceur, near Casablanca and Mohammed V International Airport. It will manufacture precision-machined mechanical components for aircraft and helicopters, adding another international supplier to Morocco’s expanding aerospace manufacturing ecosystem.
The company announced its Moroccan expansion during the Marrakech Airshow, held from October 7 to 10, as it seeks to support growing production requirements among aerospace and defence customers while broadening its international client base.
Investment figures point to differences between announcements
The project’s financial details vary across two announcements associated with the investment.
According to information published by Mecapole Industries, an agreement with Midparc Casablanca Free Zone puts the planned investment at €14 million, with the creation of 85 direct jobs.
A separate protocol signed with Morocco’s Ministry of Industry and the Moroccan Agency for Investment and Export Development (AMDIE), however, cites an investment of €10 million and 80 direct positions.
The discrepancy leaves the final investment amount and employment target unclear. Both sets of figures nevertheless point to the establishment of a new industrial operation dedicated to aerospace manufacturing, with production scheduled to start in early 2028.
Precision machining at the heart of the project
The Moroccan facility will focus on machining mechanical components used in aircraft and helicopters. This activity forms part of a broader industrial skill set developed by Mecapole Industries, which covers several stages of manufacturing, including forging, high-precision machining and the assembly of complex parts.
These capabilities serve customers in multiple sectors, notably aerospace, defence and rail transport. The company’s move into Morocco is intended to help it respond to increasing production volumes among existing customers while opening opportunities with additional international manufacturers.
The planned investment also reflects the importance of establishing production capacity close to major industrial customers and within established aerospace supply-chain networks.
Midparc reinforces its role in Morocco’s aerospace industry
The choice of Midparc in Nouaceur places Mecapole Industries within a specialised industrial environment close to Casablanca’s international airport.
The zone is dedicated to aerospace-related manufacturing and provides a base for companies seeking to operate within Morocco’s aviation supply chain. Its location offers proximity to transport infrastructure and an industrial ecosystem serving international markets.
For Mecapole Industries, the new facility will represent an extension of its manufacturing footprint beyond France, where the group has developed six production sites.
The project also adds to Morocco’s efforts to attract specialised industrial investment and expand its role in the production of higher-value components for international aerospace and defence customers.
Production targeted for early 2028
The timetable announced for the project places the start of production in early 2028. Between now and that target, the establishment of the facility will need to translate the investment agreement into operational manufacturing capacity and the planned recruitment of local employees.
The project’s eventual scale will become clearer once the difference between the two published investment and employment figures is resolved.
For Morocco’s aerospace industry, the planned arrival of Mecapole Industries represents a further addition to the country’s industrial supply base, bringing expertise in precision machining and complex mechanical assembly to a sector increasingly connected to international manufacturing networks.
