Marseille: Man injured in shooting in the 3rd district
A 36-year-old man was shot and wounded on Thursday evening in Marseille’s 3rd district, local emergency services reported. Authorities confirmed that his life is not in danger.
The incident occurred around 8 p.m. on Rue Auphan, in the Saint-Mauront neighborhood, north of the city center. Firefighters and emergency responders from Marseille’s naval fire brigade quickly arrived at the scene to assist the victim, who was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
So far, the circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear. The judicial police have launched an investigation to determine the motive and identify the suspect or suspects, who reportedly fled before law enforcement arrived.
