Marrakech: Suspects arrested in violent theft targeting foreign tourist
Authorities in Marrakech apprehended a 29-year-old man on December 2 for allegedly possessing items stolen from a foreign tourist in a violent theft incident. The crime occurred in the city’s medina and involved two suspects on a motorcycle, and a video of the incident circulated widely on social media.
Police investigations led to the arrest of one suspect caught with the victim’s stolen phone. The second individual involved has already been detained by the Royal Gendarmerie in connection with another theft case. Authorities have now formally identified a third suspect and are continuing their investigation to apprehend him.
The arrested suspect has been placed in police custody under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor as the investigation continues to clarify the circumstances and motives behind the crime.
