Marrakech police seize 17,586 psychotropic pills in drug trafficking case
Authorities in Marrakech arrested four individuals aged 20 to 40 on Monday in connection with a drug trafficking case involving psychotropic substances. The operation was carried out in coordination with Morocco's General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance (DGST).
The police operation, conducted across several neighborhoods, led to the seizure of 17,586 psychotropic pills of various types. Officers also confiscated two vehicles believed to have been used to facilitate the illicit activity. Security sources stated that the investigation uncovered a significant quantity of prohibited substances intended for resale.
National security checks revealed that one of the suspects was already wanted on multiple drug-related charges across Morocco. The suspects are currently in custody while authorities continue their investigation to determine responsibilities and identify any additional accomplices.
