Major fire destroys Ford dealership and showroom in Warsaw

A major fire broke out at a Ford car dealership, showroom, and service facility in the Targówek district of Warsaw, Poland, causing extensive damage to the large automotive complex.

Firefighters received the first emergency call at around 5:09 a.m. local time. The blaze quickly spread across the facility, which covers approximately 3,500 square meters, destroying the showroom and the vehicles inside.

Several cars parked outside the building were also damaged by the intense heat and flames. Witnesses reported hearing a series of loud explosions as the fire developed. Fire experts suggested that the sounds may have been caused by exploding tires, vehicle batteries, or airbags inside the burning cars.

More than 100 firefighters and around 45 specialized emergency units were involved in efforts to bring the blaze under control. The response included reconnaissance drones as well as teams equipped to deal with hazardous and chemical materials.

Despite the scale of the fire, authorities reported no injuries or fatalities. The surrounding residential areas did not require evacuation, according to fire service officials.

The cause of the blaze has not yet been officially established. Police and local authorities have remained cautious about commenting on the circumstances surrounding the incident.

An investigation is expected to begin once firefighters have completely cooled the structure and confirmed that there is no risk of the flames reigniting. Investigators will then examine the damaged premises to determine how the fire started and whether any external factors may have contributed to its rapid spread.

The incident highlights the challenges faced by emergency services when dealing with large-scale fires involving vehicles, where fuel, batteries, tires, and other combustible materials can significantly increase the intensity of a blaze.
