Major European Airports disrupted by cyberattack
Several major European airports, including Brussels, London’s Heathrow, and Berlin, faced disruptions on Saturday due to a cyber incident affecting software provided by Collins Aerospace, the company confirmed.
According to Collins Aerospace, the problem involves their MUSE software and is limited to electronic check-in and baggage drop. Brussels Airport reported that the cyberattack occurred on Friday evening and has significantly impacted flight schedules, causing delays and cancellations. The airport stated that registration and boarding are currently being handled manually.
Heathrow Airport, London’s main international hub, also reported that the disruptions could lead to departures being delayed. Passengers were advised to check their flight status with airlines and to arrive early for check-in procedures.
Berlin Airport likewise confirmed disruptions caused by a “technical issue with a supplier.” Collins Aerospace is working to resolve the incident as quickly as possible.
Authorities and airline staff are coordinating to minimize inconvenience, but travelers are advised to monitor updates closely.
