Louvre remains closed on Monday due to ongoing strike
The Louvre Museum in Paris will remain closed on Monday as its staff continue a strike that began in mid-December, the museum and unions confirmed.
Between 300 and 350 employees voted to extend the industrial action after negotiations with the Ministry of Culture and the Louvre management failed to yield sufficient progress, according to the CFDT and CGT unions.
As a result, the museum will not be able to open its doors, marking the second closure since the strike began on December 15. The workers are demanding improved working conditions, highlighting ongoing tensions in the cultural sector.
