Ligue 1: Nayef Aguerd returns for Marseille against Toulouse after three-week absence

Moroccan international Nayef Aguerd, a key figure in Olympique de Marseille’s defense, is set to return to action on Saturday against Toulouse FC in Ligue 1, coach Roberto De Zerbi confirmed on Friday.

“Aguerd should be back with the squad. It’s already great news to have him again,” the Italian manager said during a press conference held on the eve of the Matchday 14 fixture.

Aguerd had been sidelined for three weeks due to a groin injury, and De Zerbi emphasized that his recovery comes as welcome reinforcement for the team. “His return is very positive for the group,” he insisted.

The defender’s comeback is expected to provide much-needed stability to Marseille’s back line as the club looks to regain momentum in the league.
