Legislative elections scheduled for September 23 in Morocco
Morocco is set to hold its next legislative elections on September 23, 2026, according to a government announcement on March 5. The declaration was made by Mustapha Baitas, the Minister in charge of Relations with Parliament and Civil Society, who serves as the government spokesperson.
Speaking at a press briefing following a government council meeting, Baitas stated that the council had approved a decree prepared by the Minister of the Interior, Abdelouafi Laftit. The decree formally establishes the date for the upcoming legislative elections.
The previous legislative elections were held on September 8, 2021, simultaneously with municipal and regional votes.
The same decree specifies that the electoral campaign will officially begin on September 10 at 00:00 and conclude on September 22 at midnight, providing a 13-day period for political parties to present their platforms and engage with voters.
