Lebanese gas distributors assure stocks are sufficient amid high demand

Lebanese gas distributors have confirmed that current gas stocks are sufficient for at least one month, even as demand surges due to a cold wave affecting mountainous and coastal regions. The announcement comes amid heightened regional tensions and military activity.

According to the national gas distributors’ union, three shipments of gas are expected to arrive in Lebanon this week to help maintain supply. The union acknowledged that demand has been “exceptionally high,” driven by families relocating to colder regions and increased domestic use of gas cylinders.

The union urged all import companies and gas filling facilities to increase daily deliveries beyond typical winter levels, extend working hours, and temporarily intensify production and distribution to prevent market pressures or artificial shortages in certain areas.

Authorities were also called upon to monitor the market closely to prevent abuses and fraudulent activities. The coordinated efforts aim to ensure that households and businesses have uninterrupted access to gas during a period of increased consumption.
