Leaked screenshots show Anthropic building app creator inside Claude

Screenshots circulating on X over the weekend appear to reveal Anthropic testing an internal full-stack app generator directly within its Claude chatbot. The feature would pit the AI company against vibe-coding startups like Lovable. Images depict a chat interface with the slogan "Let's ship something great," enabling users to build apps like AI chatbots, photo albums, landing pages, and even Space Invaders from text prompts.

The leaked interface includes live previews, integrated databases, authentication and user analytics tools, plus one-click deployment. A management panel shows storage, auth, user management, secrets, and logs. This goes beyond Anthropic's existing Claude Code command-line coding assistant, aiming for a visual no-code app builder via conversation.

Sifted contacted Anthropic and Lovable for comment, but neither responded officially.

The tool challenges Lovable, the Stockholm-based vibe-coding leader that raised $330 million in a December 2025 Series B at a $6.6 billion valuation led by Alphabet's CapitalG and Menlo Ventures. Lovable claimed $200 million in annual recurring revenue by November 2025 and over 100,000 new daily projects on its platform. Growth lead Elena Verna told the 20VC podcast big AI firms like OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and Apple pose the biggest threat, more than emerging rivals.

The leak follows turmoil for Anthropic. On March 31, it accidentally exposed 512,000 lines of Claude Code source in a public registry due to a packaging error, revealing internal architecture, unreleased features, and roadmap including persistent background agents, session memory, and multi-agent collaboration. Anthropic issued over 8,000 DMCA takedown notices.

KeyBanc analyst Jackson Ader noted earlier this year Anthropic's vertical tools signal a broader platform strategy. From legal tech today to sales, marketing, or finance tomorrow, such expansions could solidify its position in AI-driven development, blending conversational AI with practical software creation for non-coders and accelerating app prototyping amid fierce competition.
