LASOBIO invests 100 million dirhams in a new industrial unit in Morocco
LASOBIO takes a significant step in its industrial development with the inauguration of a platform dedicated to the production of dietary supplements, cosmetic products, and functional beverages. Located in the industrial zone of Had Soualem, Casablanca, this infrastructure represents an investment of 100 million dirhams and aims to support the group's growth in the Moroccan market as well as its international expansion.
With this new unit, the subsidiary of the Promamec group aims to strengthen its production capacities while integrating more industrial and technological skills in Morocco. The stated ambition is to build a facility that meets high standards of quality, traceability, and innovation.
An investment focused on industrial mastery
With over 45 years of experience, LASOBIO positions this new investment as a structural step in its strategy. The group advocates an approach centered on the accessibility of well-being, with products developed from ingredients whose effects are documented by clinical studies.
"Well-being is not a privilege, it is a right," emphasizes Hatim El Kabbaj, general manager of LASOBIO and a subsidiary of the Promamec group. According to him, the new unit should translate this vision into industrial capacity, placing quality, trust, and utility for the consumer at the heart of the approach.
The platform spans a technical area of 2,500 m². It is equipped according to pharmaceutical standards and covers several stages of the value chain, from raw materials to production and packaging.
Seven dosage forms and a capacity of 3 million units
The industrial tool is designed to produce dietary supplements, cosmetics, and functional beverages in seven dosage forms. Its announced capacity reaches up to 3 million units for each of these forms.
LASOBIO also relies on a selection of raw materials whose properties are documented by clinical studies. The company also has a portfolio of formulations and international technological and industrial partnerships aimed at supporting the development of new products.
Mastering the supply chain is also one of the focuses of the new platform. The goal is to enhance the traceability of raw materials and better control the various stages of manufacturing.
Enhancing Moroccan therapeutic plants
One of the unique features of the site lies in the integration of processes aimed at enhancing the valorization of local plant resources. A plant extraction method is expected to better exploit Moroccan therapeutic plants and retain a larger share of the value created by their transformation at the national level.
The platform also integrates a molecular transformation process that allows for the development of certain active ingredients in dosage forms that are still relatively unavailable in Morocco, particularly in functional beverages and serums.
For Ismail Guezzar, Business Development Director at LASOBIO, this direction aims to demonstrate that local production can meet demands comparable to those of major international operators while remaining adapted to the needs of Moroccan consumers.
LASOBIO also aims to serve professionals
The new infrastructure will not be exclusively dedicated to the brands developed by LASOBIO. The company also plans to open its industrial capacities to professionals wishing to develop their own products and ranges.
This approach should allow LASOBIO to play a more significant role in the Moroccan ecosystem of dietary supplements, functional beverages, and cosmetics. It comes at a time when consumers are increasingly paying attention to product quality, the origin of ingredients, and the scientific credibility of claimed benefits.
The company thus aims to position itself as an industrial partner capable of supporting the various stages of a project, from formulation to production.
More than 150 direct jobs by 2030
The project is also expected to have an impact on employment. About sixty direct employees are expected to join the site in its first phase. At full capacity, the unit should generate over 150 direct jobs by 2030.
Nearly 500 indirect jobs are also expected in various sectors related to the activity, including agriculture, logistics, distribution, and services. LASOBIO also announces its intention to pay particular attention to national skills, the employment of youth and women, as well as continuous training.
An expansion strategy towards Europe
The Moroccan industrial investment should also support LASOBIO's international strategy. The company is particularly preparing for the European development of its German brand H3R LAB, whose products are set to be distributed in over 1,000 points of sale in Germany starting January 2027.
The group also plans to launch its exports to the United Kingdom in 2027. This expansion should rely on strengthening production capacities in Morocco and on partnerships with international players in the dietary supplements, functional beverages, and cosmetics sectors.
For LASOBIO, the stakes are thus twofold: to consolidate a national industrial base while using this capacity as a stepping stone to access new markets.
A trajectory towards the pharmaceutical industry
Beyond its current activities, LASOBIO has a long-term ambition: to become an important player in the pharmaceutical industry. This activity could thus complement its current portfolio dedicated to health and well-being.
With this new platform, the company seeks to expand its offerings, develop new expertise, and strengthen its international collaborations. The goal is also to emerge as a Moroccan industrial player capable of competing with international references while maintaining a strong proximity to the expectations of the local market.
