Kuwait reduces oil production as precaution amid Iran tensions
Kuwait has implemented a precautionary reduction in crude oil production and refining throughput amid ongoing tensions with Iran, the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) announced on Saturday. The move follows recent Iranian attacks against Kuwaiti territory and concerns over safe passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz.
KPC described the adjustment as part of its "risk management and business continuity strategy." The reduction is strictly precautionary and will be reviewed as the situation develops. The company stated it is prepared to restore production levels once conditions allow.
The precautionary measure reflects growing concerns across the Gulf region about the stability of oil supplies amid escalating regional conflicts. Kuwait, a key oil producer, emphasized that the strategy aims to safeguard both operational continuity and market stability.
