Italy approves Leonardo-Baykar drone venture under strategic conditions

Italy has granted conditional approval to a strategic partnership between Italian defense and aerospace group Leonardo and Turkish drone manufacturer Baykar, paving the way for a new chapter in Europe's rapidly evolving unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) sector.

The joint venture, structured as an equal partnership between the two companies, is designed to strengthen Europe's capabilities in drone technology and reduce dependence on external suppliers. As demand for advanced UAV systems continues to grow worldwide, both firms see significant opportunities in a market expected to expand substantially over the next decade.
