Iran reports 787 deaths since start of conflict, according to Red Crescent
The Iranian Red Crescent Society announced on Tuesday that at least 787 people have been killed across Iran since the start of U.S. and Israeli strikes on Saturday.
According to a statement published by the humanitarian organization, the figure is based on field reports from operational teams deployed across the country. “Based on ground reports from our response units, 787 compatriots have tragically lost their lives in these attacks,” the organization said.
The Red Crescent also reported that the strikes have affected a wide area of the country. Since the beginning of the hostilities, around 153 cities and more than 500 sites have been targeted, with over 1,000 attacks recorded.
On Tuesday, powerful explosions were heard in Tehran, according to journalists on the ground. Iranian media also reported additional blasts in Karaj, west of the capital, and in Isfahan, located in the central part of the country.
The developments underline the rapid escalation of tensions in the region, as military operations continue and emergency teams assess the growing humanitarian impact of the strikes.
