Hospitality innovation summit positions Morocco for tourism 2030
The hospitality innovation summit Morocco gathered more than 500 senior decision makers in Rabat on 10 and 11 June. The event focused on the rapid expansion of the country’s hotel sector as Morocco prepares for major international tourism demand linked to 2030.
The summit took place at a key moment for Morocco’s tourism strategy. Authorities aim to reach 26 million visitors by 2030 and significantly increase national accommodation capacity. Plans include the addition of more than 150,000 new hotel rooms across major urban and coastal destinations.
Development pressure is visible in cities such as Rabat, Casablanca, Marrakech, Tanger, Agadir and Fès. Hotel construction and renovation projects are accelerating as investors respond to expected demand growth. The sector is also moving toward faster delivery timelines and larger integrated hospitality developments.
The event brought together real estate developers, hotel operators, architects, designers, construction firms, consultants and technology providers. Participation was limited to invited stakeholders, with structured meetings designed to connect project owners with potential partners and suppliers.
Organisers highlighted the shift toward results-driven collaboration in hospitality development. A large-scale modernisation programme known as Cap Hospitality mobilises around 4 billion dirhams to upgrade 25,000 existing rooms. This initiative supports broader national tourism objectives and improves the quality of existing infrastructure.
The summit also drew on international experience from previous editions held in multiple markets. Organisers report thousands of participating companies and tens of thousands of business meetings generated through the platform. Artificial intelligence tools were used to match participants before the event, aiming to improve efficiency in partnerships and investment decisions.
Strategic partners included national institutions and international firms active in engineering, hospitality and design. Industry groups and global hotel operators participated in discussions on investment trends, project delivery and future design standards. The summit positioned itself as a coordination platform for stakeholders shaping Morocco’s hotel landscape ahead of 2030.
