His Majesty King Mohammed VI delivers Throne Day address to the Nation

On the occasion of the 27th anniversary of his accession to the Throne of his Glorious Ancestors, His Majesty King Mohammed VI delivered his annual Throne Day address to the Moroccan people.

Below is the full text of the Royal Speech:

"Praise be to God. May peace and blessings be upon the Prophet, His Family and His Companions.

My dear people,

It is with immense pride and deep satisfaction that We celebrate today the twenty-seventh anniversary of Our accession to the Throne.

Twenty-seven years have passed since Almighty God entrusted Me with the responsibility of leading your destiny. It is a noble mission and an immense responsibility.

In accordance with the words of the Almighty, 'If you are grateful, I will surely increase My favors upon you,' We give thanks to God for guiding Us on the path of success, enabling Us to meet your aspirations and respond to your concerns.

I have never sought personal glory or recognition as a continental or international leader. My sole concern has always been to fulfill My duty to serve you and to ensure that all Moroccans can live in dignity as free citizens.

Looking back today on what we have achieved together fills Me with pride and confidence in the future. More than a source of personal satisfaction, these achievements inspire reassurance and determination, encouraging Us to continue moving forward.

What has been accomplished is not the result of chance. It stems from a clear strategic vision and a governance approach built on initiative, rigorous follow-up, constructive self-assessment and a firm commitment to preparing for the future with determination and optimism.

My dear people,

Our country has reached a decisive stage in its development journey, one where confidence and optimism must prevail over narratives of despair and discouragement.

The greatest source of pride for Morocco remains the security and stability enjoyed by the Kingdom, together with the effectiveness of its public institutions. At a time when the regional and international environment is marked by crises and multiple tensions, political and institutional stability has become a priceless strategic asset.

Today, stability is the key factor underpinning Morocco's development and represents a strategic capital of which the nation is proud.

My dear people,

Morocco draws its strength from its long-standing traditions as a nation-state, where institutions operate in harmony and complement one another. This institutional framework enables the country to pursue its achievements effectively while overcoming challenges and constraints.

Morocco has demonstrated its organizational capabilities by successfully hosting major continental and international events, earning widespread admiration and recognition around the world.

The Kingdom has also shown remarkable resilience in responding to crises and natural disasters, particularly through its proactive management of floods that affected the Gharb region and northern Morocco.

Thanks to security, stability and institutional efficiency, positive indicators continue to emerge across all sectors, reinforcing economic progress and strengthening national sovereignty.

Economic growth reached around 4.9% in 2025, and a similar or higher rate is expected in 2026.

In agriculture, abundant rainfall and a successful farming season have contributed to stronger water and food security.

Morocco has further consolidated its position as an attractive destination for industrial, tourism and financial investment, as reflected by the positive performance of its industrial sectors.

Today, the automotive, aerospace, renewable energy and agri-food industries have become essential pillars of the national economy, attracting investment while generating wealth and employment.

Morocco has become Africa's leading automobile exporter, with an annual production capacity of approximately one million vehicles. The automotive and aerospace industries now account for more than 40% of Morocco's total exports, surpassing phosphate exports.

Earlier this year, We inaugurated new industrial facilities that have enabled Morocco to join the group of countries hosting major hubs for the manufacturing of aircraft engines and landing systems.

The development of an integrated electric battery industry also demonstrates Morocco's ability to anticipate technological transformation and integrate into strategic global value chains.

Major projects are underway to make renewable energy a cornerstone of national energy security while providing competitive, low-carbon energy for industry.

As part of this ambitious strategy, the operational rollout of the Morocco Green Hydrogen Offer has begun with the authorization of the first group of large-scale projects.

My dear people,

In an international context characterized by renewed protectionism and the need to secure supply and production chains, We have made the strengthening of national sovereignty and strategic self-sufficiency central pillars of Morocco's industrial policy.

This approach is reflected in the agri-food and pharmaceutical industries, which now meet nearly 80% of domestic demand.

At the same time, establishing a defence and cybersecurity industrial and technological base will progressively strengthen Morocco's defence capabilities, create new development opportunities and reinforce the Kingdom's status as a regional power in these strategic sectors.

The tourism sector also achieved a historic milestone in 2025 by welcoming nearly 20 million visitors, including members of the Moroccan community living abroad.

Alongside economic development, We continue implementing initiatives and human development programmes, notably through the expansion of social protection, with the ultimate objective of improving living standards and promoting social and territorial equity.

We stress the importance of effectively implementing integrated territorial development programmes to ensure that every region benefits without exception.

The country's economic and social transformation also requires unprecedented financial resources, most of which must come from domestic financing.

For this reason, We call on Morocco's financial sector to continue supporting investment and major projects while expanding access to both bank and non-bank financing for small and medium-sized enterprises, innovation, industrialization and exports.

We also encourage the financial sector to become more innovative in mobilizing national savings and revitalizing capital markets, thereby accelerating Morocco's development momentum.

My dear people,

With God's help, Morocco has strengthened its position as a credible, respected and trusted international partner.

Today, the Kingdom stands as a leading economic actor and a sought-after partner for balanced, forward-looking partnerships.

This position enables Morocco to engage confidently and transparently with its partners while promoting constructive cooperation initiatives and mutually beneficial partnerships on bilateral and international issues.

The Kingdom has also chosen to diversify its partnerships in order to reinforce its capabilities and broaden its international influence across all sectors.

My dear people,

These economic and social achievements go beyond the terms of any government or parliament. They are the result of years of cumulative progress supported by Morocco's strategic vision and sound national choices.

Following the upcoming legislative elections and the formation of a new government, We hope a new phase of development will begin, focused on preserving achievements while continuing major reforms and strategic projects.

My dear people,

As We celebrate the Glorious Throne Day, We once again express Our pride and appreciation for the Royal Armed Forces, the Royal Gendarmerie, the Territorial Administration, the National Police, the Auxiliary Forces and Civil Protection for their dedication and constant commitment, under Our command, to defending national unity and preserving the country's security and stability.

On this occasion, We respectfully remember the valiant martyrs of the Nation, foremost among them Our revered Grandfather, the late His Majesty King Mohammed V, and Our illustrious Father, the late His Majesty King Hassan II. May God grant them His infinite mercy.

In conclusion, let Us recall the verse which states: "Indeed, God does not allow the reward of those who do good to be lost."
